Now, in Opera GX's install folder, there's a "" file that you used to be able to edit to point it to a png icon file (where you'd have to restart Windows Explorer after making the change). You can right-click it there and goto "properties" to change the icon if you want to do it that way instead. The pinned taskbar icon/shortcut will be stored in "C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar". If so, then, launch the Windows task manager, switch to the "Processes" tab, select "Windows Explorer" and click "restart" at the bottom of the task manager window. Once you do that, right-click on the pinned taskbar icon to confirm that your icon is next to "Opera GX Browser". For example, you might want the type to be "transparent" so that it has a transparent background.
You can click "tools" near the search field to narrow down the type. If Opera GX's taskbar icon is pinned, right-click on it, right-click on "Opera GX Browser" in the menu, click on "properties", switch to the "shortcut" tab, click "change icon", click "browser", and point it to a 256 x 256.
